Post Image

The standard landscape post image. Facebook may crop this slightly on mobile, so keep your main subject away from the edges. Square posts (1:1) also perform well in the feed.
Cover Photo
851 × 315 px · ~2.7:1
The banner at the top of your profile or Page. Facebook recommends 851×315 for the fastest load; phones crop it closer to 16:9, so keep text and faces in the centre and check both views after uploading.
Story
1080 × 1920 px · 9:16
Same full-bleed vertical format as Instagram Stories. The safe zone is the centre 1080×1420 px. UI overlays appear at the top and bottom.
Event Cover
1920 × 1005 px · ~1.91:1
The banner image for Facebook Events. Facebook shows event covers at about 1.91:1, so 1920×1005 fills it without the side crop a 16:9 image gets on phones. Keep key content centred: the image may be cropped differently in event discovery and mobile views.
