Privacy Policy

The short version

Your images are processed entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never seen by anyone other than you. We collect minimal anonymous analytics to understand how the tool is used — no personal data, no tracking across sites.

Image processing

All image operations — resizing, cropping, format conversion, adjustments, background removal, and EXIF stripping — run locally in your browser using the Web APIs built into modern browsers. No image data is transmitted to any server at any point. We have no access to your files.

The AI background removal feature uses a machine learning model that runs entirely on your device via WebAssembly. The model file (~40 MB) is downloaded from a content delivery network on first use and cached in your browser. Your images are never sent anywhere during this process.

Analytics and performance data

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregate data about page views and Core Web Vitals performance metrics (page load speed, layout stability). This data does not include personal information, IP addresses, or any way to identify individual users. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with the tool — which features they use, where they navigate, and how often they download images. Google Analytics collects anonymized interaction data. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on. Data is retained for 14 months.

We use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity captures anonymized click, scroll, and navigation patterns to help us improve the interface. No personally identifiable information is captured. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement for details.

Cookies and local storage

ImageSizeTool does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. The tool may use your browser's localStorage to remember display preferences (such as display scale settings) within a session. This data never leaves your device.

Third-party services

The tool currently relies on the following third-party services:

• Vercel — hosting and edge delivery. Vercel may log standard server access metadata (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and infrastructure purposes. This is standard web hosting practice and is governed by Vercel's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics 4 — behavioral analytics. Collects anonymized event data (feature usage, navigation paths, download frequency). No image content is ever transmitted.
• Microsoft Clarity — session recordings and heatmaps. Captures anonymized interaction patterns (clicks, scrolls). No image content or personally identifiable information is captured.

No advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers are integrated into this tool.

Children's privacy

ImageSizeTool is a general-purpose tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way — for example, if advertising or event-level analytics are added — the "Last updated" date at the top will be updated and the changes will be reflected here. We will not introduce user tracking without updating this page.
